The Doctor of Music degree (DMus, DM, MusD or occasionally MusDoc) is a higher doctorate awarded on the basis of a substantial portfolio of compositions and/or scholarly publications on music. Like other higher doctorates, it is granted by universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland and some Commonwealth countries.

The doctor of musical arts (DMA) is a doctoral academic degree in music. The DMA combines advanced studies in an applied area of specialization (usually music performance, music composition, or conducting) with graduate-level academic study in subjects such as music history, music theory, or music education.

The honorary Doctor of Music (D. Mus.) is the highest honor awarded by VanderCook College of Music. It is presented to noteworthy individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of music education as evidenced by their scholarly or creative achievements, outstanding service and leadership.

There is no difference between Dr and DR and DR. when used to show that a person has a doctorate in medicine or botany or other subject.

Doctor. Socially as well as professionally, medical doctors, dentists, and other professionals are addressed by, and introduced with, their titles. People who have earned a Ph. D. or any other academic, nonmedical doctoral degree have the choice of whether to use "Dr." both professionally and socially.

What does the name DMA's mean? According to the band, the three letters in DMA's don't stand for anything, they're merely an abbreviation of earlier names they've had. Apparently, they were called the Dirty Ma's before until their manager suggested they change the name to DMA's.

Designated Market Area DMA (Designated Market Area) and Metro DMAs are different geographic regions split up by access to local TV and radio broadcasts. There are 302 radio metros, or DMAs, in the United States. Many radio stations overlap across multiple DMAs, and not everywhere in the country is covered by a DMA.

There are many types of doctors, but there are two main categories: primary care or specialty care. Within these two groups, doctors vary widely in their specialty area and level of training.
