Köchel Verzeichnis

A lot of composers' music is listed by opus number (abbreviated Op.), but back in the 19th century, a musicologist named Köchel (Ludwig Alois Ferdinand Ritter von Köchel, to be exact) did the world a huge favor by cataloguing all of Mozart's music. So Mozart's compositions have “K. for Köchel” numbers.

Köchel-Verzeichnis KV is an abbreviation for Köchel-Verzeichnis, which translates to "Köchel catalogue." It is the commonly accepted listing of Mozart's works, originally developed by Ludwig von Köchel in 1862. Its goal is to list all of Mozart's compositions in chronological order.

The Köchel catalogue (German: Köchel-Verzeichnis) is a chronological catalogue of compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, originally created by Ludwig Ritter von Köchel, in which the entries are abbreviated K. or KV.

Köchel (K) numbers are assigned sequentially according to the date of composition. For example, Mozart's opera The Magic Flute is given the Köchel number 620, and is (approximately) the 620th piece of music Mozart composed. Compositions completed at the same time are listed K69, K69a, and so on.

(The “K” refers to Ludwig, Ritter [knight] von Köchel, a 19th-century Austrian musicologist who compiled the most complete chronological catalog of Mozart's works.) This sonata was one of three collectively published in 1784 as Opus 6, though in fact Mozart had written more than 300 compositions by that time.

The Symphony in B-flat Major, K 22 (1765; “K” or “Köchel” numbers - named for Ludwig, Ritter (knight) von Köchel, the scholar who catalogued Mozart's musical corpus - are the standard way of identifying Mozart's works) contains a lovely chromatic slow movement in the key of G minor.

Kv is in units of RPM/Volt. RPM= Kv * Voltage. Kt - Torque Constant. The more torque a motor needs to produce, the more current it will draw. The Kt rating designates the amount of torque a motor will produce given a current.

The Scheme of Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) was approved in November 1962 by the Govt. of India on the recommendations of the Second Central Pay Commission. It recommended that the Government should develop a scheme to provide uninterrupted education to the wards of transferable Central Government employees.

The indication "K." or "KV" refers to Köchel Verzeichnis (Köchel catalogue), i.e. the (more or less) chronological (i.e. by composition date) catalogue of Mozart's works by Ludwig von Köchel.

The Kv rating designates the RPM a motor will spin at full throttle when unloaded given an input voltage. To estimate the RPM of a motor, simply multiply the Kv value by the battery voltage. Kv is in units of RPM/Volt. RPM= Kv * Voltage.
