A category of edge-blown aerophones in the family of flutes where the instrument is played by blowing an airstream against a sharp edge of the end of the instrument. This instrument is further broken down to the end-blown single flutes where finger holes in the instrument are used to change the pitch and end-blown multiple flutes such as the panpipes where a set of tubes create the pitches with each tube capable of a single pitch.
