Wayne Brewster Barlow (1912-1996) was an American composer of contemporary classical music. He was born in Elyria, Ohio, and received his education at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees before receiving his Ph.D. in composition. Barlow also studied at the Paris Conservatory with Nadia Boulanger.

Barlow's compositional output includes works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, and voice. He was known for his use of contemporary tonal language, and his music often features lush harmonies and expressive melodic lines. Some of his notable works include "The Winter's Passed" for flute and orchestra, "Soliloquy" for cello and piano, and "Symphony No. 1."

Apart from being a composer, Barlow was also an academic who taught at several universities including Georgia State University, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Southern California. Additionally, he served on the music faculty at the Eastman School of Music and was a visiting professor at Oxford University. Barlow was also a member of the American Composers Alliance and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
