Vicente Asencio y Ruano was a Spanish composer born on October 29, 1908, and passed away on April 4, 1979. He was a well-known composer in Spain, especially for his works for the guitar. Asencio studied music at the Valencia Conservatory where his passion for guitar music first emerged. It was there that he met guitarist Narciso Yepes, who would later become the dedicatee of some of Asencio's most famous works.
