Full biography Louis Brassin
Louis Brassin was a Belgian pianist, composer, and music educator who lived from June 24, 1840, to May 17, 1884. He was known for his accomplishments in classical music and is particularly notable for his piano transcription of "The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Brassin studied piano with Anton Rubinstein in St. Petersburg and later went on to perform extensively throughout Europe as a concert pianist. He was also a respected music educator and served on the faculty of the Brussels Conservatory.
Apart from his piano transcription of "The Magic Flute," Brassin composed piano music and chamber music. He was also known for his work on the technical aspects of piano playing and wrote several pedagogical works on the subject.
Brassin passed away at a relatively young age of 43, but his contributions to classical music and piano pedagogy continue to be appreciated to this day.
