Artur Kapp was an Estonian composer born on February 28, 1878, in Suure-Jaani, Estonia. He was an important figure in the Estonian music scene, known for his works in the early 20th century.
Kapp showed a keen interest in music at a young age and began his studies at St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia, where he studied under renowned composers Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Anatoly Lyadov. While in Russia, he also worked as a conductor for the Estonian Society Choir.
After completing his studies, Kapp returned to Estonia and dedicated himself to composing. He wrote a wide range of music, including symphonies, operas, chamber music, and choral works.
