A drum major or field commander is the leader of a marching band, drum and bugle corps, or pipe band, usually positioned at the head of the band or corps.

Major is a military term and the Major position is just above Captain, but below Lieutenant Colonel. It's used in band because marching bands require a huge amount of organization. This requires squad leaders, drum Majors and the band director.

Such skills have been developed through extensive extracurricular participation and team work, team building, and team leading. Physically active, musically inclined, and wonderful with kids.
