He also worked for Warner Bros, 20th Century-Fox, Columbia Pictures, and MGM, where he composed, arranged, and conducted music for numerous films and television shows.
One of Barker's most iconic works was the orchestral arrangement of the theme song for the popular TV series Bewitched. He was also known for his original compositions for concert bands and wind ensembles. Barker's music was admired for its melodic beauty, complexity, and emotional depth.
Barker retired from his work in the film industry in the early 1980s and shifted his focus to writing and conducting original pieces of music for concert bands and wind ensembles.
