Victor Emanuel Bendix was a Danish composer, pianist, and conductor born on May 17, 1851, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He wrote many songs, but his most important works were compositions for the orchestra, including four symphonies with an international orientation. Bendix also had a deep interest in piano music, and many of his compositions were dedicated to the piano.

Bendix was a friend of Carl Nielsen, who dedicated his Symphonic Suite for piano (1894) to Bendix. He was also a significant influence on the music of fellow Danish composer Rudolf Simonsen, whose Piano Concerto in F Minor (1908) was modeled on Bendix's Piano Concerto in G Minor (1893).

In 1879 , Bendix married the writer and philanthropist Baroness Rigmor Stampe. His father was the composer and conductor Victor Bendix. Bendix was highly respected during his lifetime as a composer, pianist, and conductor and was considered a pillar of Denmark's musical community.

Bendix's works are still performed and recorded today, and he remains an important figure in Danish music history.
