Veronika Krausas is a Canadian composer known for her unique approach to contemporary music compositions. She was born in Lithuania and raised in Toronto, where she received her Bachelor's degree in composition from the University of Toronto. She went on to earn a Master's degree in composition from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Music from the University of California, San Diego.

Krausas has composed music for a variety of mediums, including operas, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, electronic media, dance, and film. She is known for incorporating elements of literature, philosophy, and visual art into her compositions, which results in a diverse range of sounds and textures. Her music has been performed across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia.

In addition to her compositions, Krausas is also an accomplished educator and has taught music theory and composition at several institutions, including the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California (USC). She has also served as guest composer at numerous universities and music festivals.

Krausas has received several awards and honors for her work, including the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in 2019. Her works have been commissioned by renowned organizations such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and the Canadian Opera Company, among others.
