Vahram Sargsyan was a prominent composer from Armenia. He was born on September 19, 1937, in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. Sargsyan began studying music at a young age, and after finishing high school, he enrolled at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.

He graduated in 1960 and began working as a composer and music teacher, and quickly gained a reputation for his innovative and experimental style. Sargsyan's compositions often blurred the lines between traditional Armenian music and contemporary classical music, earning him praise from audiences and critics alike.

Throughout his career, Sargsyan composed many works for orchestral ensembles, chamber groups, and soloists. Some of his most well-known pieces include "Symphony No. 2," "Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta," and "Concerto for Cello and Orchestra."

In addition to his work as a composer, Sargsyan was also a respected music educator. He taught at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory for many years and served as the school's rector from 1992 to 1994.

Sadly, Sargsyan passed away on January 13, 2019, at the age of 81. However, his legacy continues to live on through his music, which remains an important part of Armenian classical repertoire.
