Vaclav Jindřich Veit was a Czech composer who lived from 1806 to 1864. He is considered one of the most important composers of the Czech romantic period, and his works are still performed today.

Veit's music was heavily influenced by his Bohemian roots, and he drew inspiration from the folk music of the region. He was also a student of the German romantic composer Carl Maria von Weber, and his music shows Weber's influence as well.
