Claudio Veggio was an Italian composer of the Renaissance era, born around 1510. Little is known about his life, but he was active in Piacenza and may have studied with Adrian Willaert in Venice. Veggio's surviving works include madrigals, motets, and instrumental pieces. His music shows the influence of the Venetian polychoral style, characterized by the use of multiple choirs and antiphonal effects. Veggio's music has been recorded and performed by contemporary ensembles specializing in Renaissance music. While not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, Veggio's music is notable for its expressive harmonies and intricate counterpoint.
