He began his musical career by studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. During his studies, he expressed a great deal of interest in the works of other famous composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart.

After completing his studies, Truid Aagesen began working as a composer and conductor across Denmark and Europe. He focused mainly on composing symphonies, string quartets, and other chamber music.

One of his most famous works is his Symphony no. 2 in C minor, which received great critical acclaim upon its release. It is considered to be one of the best symphonies composed by a Danish composer.
