Thomas Robinson was an English Renaissance composer and music teacher who was active in the late 16th century ). He flourished around 1600, and during this time, he wrote and taught music for various stringed instruments such as the lute, cittern, and orpharion. Robinson's most well-known work is "The Schoole of Musicke," which was published in 1603 and is a collection of solo lute pieces with a range of difficulties. This work is considered to be one of the most important contributions to Renaissance lute literature and is still studied and performed by musicians today.
Not much is known about Robinson's life, as there are no records of his birth or death. However, it is believed that he was born around 1560 and died around 1610. Despite the limited information available about him, Robinson's contributions to music during the Renaissance era continue to be celebrated and appreciated today.
