Joseph Robinson was an Irish composer, baritone, conductor, and teacher who lived from August 16, 1815 to August 23, 1898. He was one of the most prominent Irish musicians of the Victorian era.

Joseph Robinson's compositions include overtures, anthems, songs, and chamber music. Some of his most famous works include the oratorio "The Woman of Samaria," the cantata "O'Connell's Vigil," and the song "The Fairy's Lullaby."

In addition to his work as a composer, Joseph Robinson was also a talented singer and conductor. He served as the conductor of the Belfast Festival for many years and was also the principal conductor of the Hibernian Orchestra in Dublin.

Despite his many accomplishments, Joseph Robinson is a relatively little-known composer today. However, his contributions to the musical world during his lifetime cannot be understated.
