Theodor Dohler (1814-1856) was a German composer and pianist. He was known for his virtuosic piano playing and his romantic compositions, which were especially popular in salon music. Dohler's father was a music publisher, and he began studying piano at an early age. He quickly developed a reputation as a prodigy, giving his first public performance at the age of nine.

Dohler's music was heavily influenced by the romantic style of his time, which emphasized emotional expression and technical virtuosity. He composed numerous works for the piano, including etudes, variations, and salon pieces. His music was popular among amateur pianists and was often featured in music collections and anthologies.

In addition to his work as a composer, Dohler was also a respected piano teacher. His students included the daughter of pianist and composer Clara Schumann. Despite his success as a composer and teacher, Dohler struggled with financial difficulties throughout his life and died at the young age of 42.
