Teresa Belloc-Giorgi was an Italian composer, born in Florence on June 1, 1894. She was a significant figure in the music world during the early 20th century, known for her poignant compositions that blended elements of neoclassical and modernist styles. Belloc-Giorgi's early musical education was under her father, an amateur musician, and later on with the renowned composer Guido Tacchinardi in Florence.

She gained the attention of notable figures such as Igor Stravinsky and Ferruccio Busoni, which ensured her music received a wider audience. Her compositions, characterized by a unique style that combined counterpoint and chromaticism, were celebrated for their cutting-edge harmonies, elegant melodies, and vibrant rhythms.

Belloc-Giorgi's most famous works include the compositions for her "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra," which premiered in Venice in 1927 with Antonio Guarnieri as the soloist. Her other notable works include "Tre studi per pianoforte," "Variazioni sul Bambino Gesù," and a ballet called "L’albero dei giochi."

Despite her significant contributions to the music industry, her works remain relatively unexplored, and her name is little-known today. Belloc-Giorgi passed away on January 6, 1974, in Rome. Today, she is remembered as a pioneer of modernist classical music and an essential figure in Italian music of the 20th century.
