Soulima Stravinsky was a Russian-American composer and pianist who lived from 1910 to 1994. Born in Lausanne, Switzerland to the famous composer Igor Stravinsky and his wife Catherine, Soulima grew up in an atmosphere of music and creativity.

At the age of five, Soulima began piano lessons, which would eventually lead him to concert performances in his youth. He also showed an early interest in composition, and at the age of ten, he wrote his first piece, a short piano work called "Au Concert". Soulima went on to study at the Paris Conservatory with legendary pianist Alfred Cortot, as well as studying theory and composition with Nadia Boulanger.

In 1934, Soulima moved to the United States with his parents, and he eventually settled in New York City, where he became an American citizen. He continued to perform as a pianist, but also focused on composition, including writing music for television commercials, films, and ballets.

Soulima's music was known for its harmonious qualities and its nod to neo-Classicism, often utilizing polyphony and counterpoint. He also drew inspiration from his Russian roots, incorporating traditional themes and motifs into his compositions. Some of his notable works include "Three Tangos", "Sonata for Piano Four Hands", and "Variations on a Theme of Corelli".

Throughout his life, Soulima maintained a close bond with his father, often discussing music and sharing ideas. He also served on the board of the Music Division of the New York Public Library, working to preserve the legacy of his father's work.

In recognition of his contributions to music, Soulima Stravinsky was awarded the Ditson Conductor's Award in 1964. He continued to compose until his death in 1994, leaving behind a legacy of innovative, melodic music that drew from both his Russian heritage and his experiences in the United States.
