Heinrich Strecker (1893-1981) was an Austrian composer known for his operettas and popular Viennese music. He was born on February 24, 1893, in Vienna, Austria. Strecker's works included the Singspiel "Annchen von Tharau" and "Narren im Schnee," which he composed for the film of the same name.

Strecker's musical talent was recognized at an early age, and his teachers provided him with free lessons in piano and cello. He studied composition with Robert Fuchs and Joseph Marx at the Vienna Academy of Music. Strecker wrote songs and collaborated with other composers, including Rudolf Kattnigg, August Pepck, Walter Kollo, and Robert Stolz, working with the latter on the operetta "Spring Night."

In addition to his work as a composer, Strecker was an actor and writer. He appeared in the film "Seven Years in Tibet" and wrote the libretto for several operettas and musicals. Strecker was also a collector of art and antique objects. He acquired a villa in Baden after 1938, and a catalogue from 1937 gives us a rare inside view into the villa interior.

Today , Heinrich Strecker is remembered for his contributions to Viennese music and operettas. His compositions continue to be performed and enjoyed by music lovers all over the world.
