Shaun Davey is an Irish composer born on January 18 , 1948, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Although he originally trained at Trinity College , Dublin and The Courtauld Institute of Art in London, he is largely self-taught in music. From 1987, Shaun Davey has been in demand as a composer for theatre, film, television, and the concert hall.
Shaun Davey's music is known for its haunting melodies and contemporary approach to traditional Celtic themes. His work frequently features traditional Irish instruments such as the uilleann pipes, tin whistle, and fiddle. He has composed music for numerous productions, including The Brendan Voyage, a musical interpretation of the journey made by the Irish explorer Tim Severin.
