Sergio Rendine was an Italian composer, cultural manager, and theatre director. He was born on September 7, 1954, in Naples, Campania, Italy. Rendine is known for his work in classical music, with a focus on opera and symphonic works. He received his education at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples.

Rendine's compositions have been performed by leading orchestras and chamber groups around the world. Some of his notable works include the Easter cantata "Passio et Resurrectio," the opera "La Giara," and "Hamsin," a symphonic poem for orchestra. Rendine was also involved in the jazz community as a saxophonist, and he collaborated with the saxophonist Mimmo Malandra to record a CD of world premieres by contemporary Italian composers.

In addition to his work as a composer, Rendine was a cultural manager and theatre director. He worked at Teatro Marrucino as artistic director and was president of the Italian Composers' Association. Rendine was a beloved figure in the Italian classical music community, and his passing in April 2023 was mourned by many.
