Rudi Spring (born November 15, 1962) is a German composer and musician. He studied composition under Günter Kahowez at the Musikhochschule Hannover and under Helmut Lachenmann at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart. He was awarded a scholarship by the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, where he studied with Tristan Murail. From 1990 to 1993 he was composer-in-residence at the Hanover State Opera, and from 1994 to 1996 he held a fellowship at the Academy of Arts, Berlin.

Spring's works have been performed by many orchestras and ensembles, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, and the Arditti Quartet. His music has been heard at many festivals, including the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the Venice Biennale, the Salzburg Festival, and the Berliner Festwochen.

Notable works by Rudi Spring include "Ostinato ascendente" for string quartet, "Passacaglia" for orchestra and "Sprachfiguren" for ensemble and live electronics. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his contributions to contemporary classical music, including the Stuttgart Composition Prize and the Schneider-Schott Music Prize.

Aside from his work as a composer, Spring is also a musician. He has worked as a lecturer at the Musikhochschule Hannover, the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, and as a professor of composition at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
