Roger Briggs is a composer and Professor Emeritus of Composition at Western Washington University as well as a Conductor Emeritus of Bellingham Symphony Orchestra. He is known for his musical compositions, which have been performed by ensembles across the world, including in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and South America. Briggs has also been a distinguished visiting composer at several universities and has mentored several students over his career. He has collaborated with other composers on various projects, including musical compositions for Samuel Adler and Jeffery L. Briggs' works. Brigss' compositions range from full orchestra to smaller ensembles and have received high praise for their excellence. Additionally, Roger Briggs has played an integral role in the music industry, co-founding the Enterprise Arts Alliance and serving as a founding member of the International Alliance for Women in Music.
