Pieter Bustijn was a Dutch Baroque composer who lived during the 17th and early 18th century. Not much is known about his life, as he left behind very few personal documents. It is believed that he was born in 1649 or 1650 in Amsterdam, and he died in 1729 or 1730.

Bustijn was primarily a composer of instrumental music, including sonatas, sinfonias, and concertos. He was one of the first composers to write for the recorder, an instrument that was extremely popular at the time. His music is characterized by its elegance and beauty, and is often compared to the works of other famous Baroque composers, such as Vivaldi and Handel.
