Full biography Peter Skellern
Peter Skellern (14 March 1947 - 17 February 2017) was a British musician who was known for being a composer , singer, and songwriter. He started his career as an organist and choirmaster in a local church before pursuing his passion for music full-time. Over the course of his career, Skellern wrote and performed music for films and television shows , including The Snow Queen and Me and My Girl. He also had a hit single in 1972 with the piano ballad "You're A Lady".
In addition to his music career , Skellern was a regular on the Radio 4 show Stop the Week , where he wrote and performed topical songs. He also hosted his own television series called "Peter Skellern", for which he wrote several episodes.
Later in life, Skellern became an ordained priest in the Church of England and was appointed as a prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral in London. He continued to perform and record music while also serving as a clergyman. He died in 2017 at the age of 69.
Overall, Peter Skellern was a versatile and accomplished musician who made significant contributions to British music and entertainment during his career. His legacy is remembered through his beautiful compositions and his impact on the industry.
