He went on to study with notable teachers such as Julius Chajes, Ozan Marsh, and Rudolf Serkin.
Schoenfield's music is a blend of classical, folk, and jazz influences, with a focus on rhythm and melody. He has composed for a variety of ensembles, including orchestras, chamber groups, and soloists. Some of his most famous works include "Café Music," "Four Parables," and "Sonata for Violin and Piano."
Despite his success and recognition as a classical composer, Schoenfield has stated that he does not consider himself a serious music composer. He sees his music as accessible and intended to be enjoyed by a wide audience, rather than reserved for the elite.
