Paolo Girolamo Besozzi was an Italian composer, bassoonist, and oboist born in 1713 and lived until 1778. He came from a family of musicians that included his father Cristoforo, who was a composer and oboist, and his brothers Alessandro and Giuseppe, who were also oboists.

Paolo Girolamo was known for his virtuosic playing and compositions for the bassoon and oboe. In 1735, he and his brother Alessandro were favorably received in Paris, where they gave performances for Louis XV.

Besozzi's compositions included sonatas, concertos, and chamber music for various instruments, including the bassoon, oboe, and violin. Some of his notable works include the Sonata in C Major for Alto Trombone and Piano, a concerto for bassoon, and a set of sonatas for two oboes and basso continuo.

Besozzi's music has been described as elegant and refined, exemplifying the style of the mid-18th century. His works were popular in his time, and his legacy continues to be celebrated by musicians and enthusiasts of Baroque music today.
