Louis-Désiré Besozzi was a French composer, organist and pianist born on April 3, 1814, in Paris, France. He belonged to the fourth generation of the Besozzi musical family, which was famous for producing a number of musicians between the 18th and 19th centuries.

Besozzi showed promising talent in music from a young age and began studying at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 14. He went on to win numerous awards and prizes at the conservatory for his compositions and performances on the piano and organ.

As a composer, Besozzi's works were mainly influenced by the early Romantic period, but also incorporated elements of Classicism and Baroque styles. He composed a variety of works, including operas, cantatas, chamber music, and piano pieces. One of his most famous compositions is "Fantaisie Brillante sur des thèmes de Rossini", which he dedicated to the Italian composer Gioachino Rossini.

Besozzi was also renowned for his virtuosity on the piano and organ. He performed extensively throughout Europe as a soloist and was highly regarded for his improvisational skills.

Sadly, Besozzi died on November 11, 1879, in Paris at the age of 65. Although his music is not performed frequently today, he remains an important figure in the world of French music and his contributions to the arts will not be forgotten.
