Full biography Otto Albert Tichy
Otto Albert Tichy was a Czech composer, teacher, and organist, born on August 14, 1890, and passed away on October 21, 1973. He was known for his contributions to the classical music scene, particularly in his native Czechoslovakia. Tichy wrote music throughout his life, and his works include pieces for organ, choir, and orchestra. He was also a translator of books in addition to his work as a composer.
Tichy began studying music in 1904 at the Prague Conservatory, where he was a student of Josef Bohuslav Foerster and Vitezslav Novak. He continued his studies at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Munich and later worked as a music teacher at various schools in Prague. In addition to music, Tichy was proficient in languages and worked as a translator of literature from German and English into Czech.
Although Tichy's work is not widely known outside of Czechoslovakia, he made valuable contributions to the rich culture of classical music in his homeland. Today, Tichy's legacy lives on through his surviving compositions and the ongoing efforts of music enthusiasts to preserve and promote his work.
