Nisar Bazmi was a prominent Pakistani composer, who was born in Delhi, India on December 1, 1924. He was educated in Bombay and started his musical career in 1940s after his move to Pakistan. He began his career as a guitarist in bands before moving on to film composition.

Bazmi's musical compositions were influenced by classical Indian music, and he infused western music into his work. He composed music for over 200 Pakistani films, many of which were successful and remain popular to this day. Some of his most famous compositions include "Tumhi Ho Mehboob Mere" and "Chand Si Mehbooba Ho Meri" that became hits and were sung by renowned singers like Noor Jehan, Ahmed Rushdi, and Mehdi Hassan.

Nisar Bazmi was an innovative and experimental composer who set new standards in film composition. He was known for experimenting with fusion of classical and western music in his compositions. He also contributed notably to Pakistan's television industry and composed music for various TV shows.

Bazmi was awarded the Pride of Performance by the Pakistani government in 1988 for his contribution to music. Sadly, he passed away on March 22, 2007, leaving behind a rich legacy of timeless melodies that are still celebrated today.
