Nicolaus Vetter was a German composer who lived during the Baroque period. He is known for his works written for the organ. Vetter was born in Thuringia, Germany, and lived from an unknown date in the mid-17th century until his death in 1691. He was a contemporary of other well-known Baroque composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Johann Heinrich Buttstett.

Vetter is best known for his work as a composer and organist at the Predigerkirche in Erfurt. He held this position until his death in 1691, and was succeeded by Buttstett. Vetter's surviving compositions include a few chorale preludes for organ, which were published posthumously. Some of his compositions have been mistakenly attributed to other composers, including Bach.

Despite his relative obscurity today, Vetter was well-regarded during his lifetime and his music was highly valued. He is remembered as an important composer and musician of the Baroque era, and his work continues to be performed and studied by music scholars and enthusiasts.
