Miklos Rozsa (1907-1995) was a Hungarian-American composer who was trained in Germany from 1925-1931 and later became active in Hollywood. He was a child prodigy who learned to play the violin at the age of five and was invited by the Hungarian Legation to write the music for a ballet when he was still a teenager.

Over the course of his career , Rozsa wrote scores for nearly 100 films between 1937 and 1982 , including such classic films as "Ben-Hur", "King of Kings", and "Spellbound". He also wrote numerous orchestral and chamber pieces , including concertos for the violin, cello, and piano.

Rozsa's music often used symphonic sound to illustrate a progression of Oriental dramas , and he won three Academy Awards for his film scores. In addition to his work in film, Rozsa also wrote a number of publications on music theory and composition.

Despite his success, Rozsa faced financial struggles throughout his career. However, he remained dedicated to his craft and continued to write music until his death in 1995. Today, he is remembered as one of the most revered composers in Hollywood history, known for his lush orchestral arrangements and masterful use of sound to capture the emotions and drama of film.
