Michele Pesenti was an Italian composer of the late 15th and early 16th century. He was born in Verona around 1470 and died around 1524. Although not much is known about his life, he was an important composer of frottole, which were popular secular songs of the Renaissance period. In fact, A-R Editions has recently published a collection of his complete works.

Pesenti was one of many composers who wrote music for the famous song "L'homme armé" to be used as a cantus firmus in masses. He is also known to have written a lament on the death of Josquin des Prez, a famous Franco-Flemish composer.

Some of his other works include "D'amor non vo' più lusinghiarmi," "I begli occhi," and "Vergine bella," all of which are frottole. His music is characterized by simple melodic lines, homophonic textures, and catchy rhythms.

Overall, while we may not know much about Michele Pesenti's life, his contributions to the world of music during the Renaissance period have left a lasting legacy.
