Mateo Albeniz, also known as Mateo Antonio Perez de Albeniz , was a Spanish composer, theorist, and priest born in 1755 in the Spanish city of Logroño. He was not related to the famous composer Isaac Albeniz. Mateo Albeniz composed a variety of works that included masses, motets, carols, sonatas, and music for piano.
Mateo Albeniz was also a priest. He became a choirmaster and organist of the church of Santa Maria in Logroño and held this position for a significant amount of time. Albeniz is known for his Sonata in D major, which he composed for cello and guitar, and is considered one of the best works by him.
