Mark Bucci was a renowned American composer, lyricist, and dramatist born on February 26, 1924, in New York City, New York. He attended St. John's University in New York from 1941-1942 and received private training in composition afterward. Bucci was an influential figure in the world of music and was well-known for his works that varied from Broadway musicals to standard art songs.

Bucci's music was mainly influenced by the works of Giacomo Puccini, an Italian composer. He also pioneered the compatibility of lyric writing with the twelve-tone system of composition. He wrote music for two Broadway musical revues and was known for his contributions as a composer , lyricist, and orchestrator to a few successful Broadway productions.

One of his most famous works includes the original musical review of NEW FACES OF 1962 , where he wrote the majority of the music and lyrics. Bucci was also known for his impactful works in films and television shows. He contributed music to shows such as "Hart to Hart" and "The Chinese Caper."

Mark Bucci was an artist composer and had several residencies at the Yaddo artist community in Saratoga Springs, New York. During his time at Yaddo, he mainly worked on his compositions while interacting with other artists. Bucci died on August 27, 2002, in New York City, at the age of 78.
