Filipina Brzezinska-Szymanowska was a Polish composer who lived from 1760 to 1830. She was born in Warsaw, Poland and studied music under one of the most prominent composers of her time, Józef Elsner.

Brzezinska-Szymanowska was considered a virtuoso pianist, and her compositions were popular during the time she lived. Her music style was known for combining both the classical and romantic styles. Her most famous works include various piano pieces, mazurkas, polonaises, and other chamber music pieces.

One of the most interesting things about Brzezinska-Szymanowska was that she was a favorite composer of Napoleon Bonaparte and she actually performed for him in the Tuileries Palace. She was often invited to perform at the homes of aristocrats during her time, and she was considered one of the most successful female composers of her time.

Sadly, her career was cut short due to illness. In the 1820s, Brzezinska-Szymanowska developed tuberculosis, and she was forced to leave her career behind. However, her music lived on and has recently gained recognition again. Her music often combines the traditional Polish folk melodies with the classical music styles of the time, and her pieces are considered some of the most beautiful and creative works of the time period.
