Agostini is also known as a significant contributor to music theory in his time, where he published several treatises, including his most renowned work "Nuova scrittura per la musica" (New Notation for Music), which is a treatise on notational techniques for music composition. In this work, he argued for the invention of a new notation system that could indicate notes clearly and effectively.
Throughout his career, Agostini also gained enormous popularity as a music teacher and was regarded as one of the most prominent musicians of his time.
