Laura Andel was an accomplished Argentinean composer known for her innovative approach to contemporary music. She was born on October 26, 1972, in Buenos Aires and began studying music at a young age. She eventually moved to the United States to study music, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston and a Master of Fine Arts degree from CalArts in Valencia, California.

Andel's music was characterized by its experimental nature, often incorporating unconventional instruments and techniques. She was particularly interested in exploring the concept of musical time and how it could be manipulated in her compositions. Her work was frequently described as "futuristic" and "genre-bending," blending elements of jazz, classical, and avant-garde music.

Over the course of her career, Andel released several albums and collaborated with a variety of musicians and performers. She also received a number of grants and awards for her work, including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006.
