Gwyneth Van Anden Walker is an American composer and pianist whose music has been performed by numerous orchestras and ensembles both in the United States and internationally. She was born in 1963 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and began studying piano as a child, encouraged by her mother who played violin and her father who played clarinet.

Walker went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in composition in 1985. She later pursued further studies at the Yale School of Music, where she earned a Master of Music degree.

Walker's music is known for its expressive melodies and lush harmonies, as well as its incorporation of extended playing techniques and non-traditional forms. She has composed works for a wide range of ensembles, including orchestral pieces, chamber music, and solo piano music.
