John Henry Griesbach (20 June 1798 – 9 January 1875) was an English composer , pianist, and violinist known for his contributions to chamber music. He was also an author and wrote a book called An Analysis of Musical Sounds. Griesbach composed a significant amount of chamber music, including a well-known decet for ten instruments. He was also a talented violinist and performed as the first violinist in several chamber ensembles during his lifetime. Despite his contributions to music, little is known about Griesbach's personal life. He passed away on January 9, 1875, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful chamber music for future generations to enjoy.
