Johann Ernst Bach was a German composer who lived from 1722 to 1777. He was born in Eisenach, Germany, and was the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach's older brother, Johann Christoph Bach. Johann Ernst Bach composed music in various genres, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and vocal music.

Johann Ernst Bach learned music composition from his father and his older brother, Johann Christoph Bach. Later, he continued his studies under Johann Sebastian Bach, who instilled in him a love for counterpoint and harmony. In 1742, Johann Ernst Bach became the court musician and chamber composer at the court of Saxe-Weimar.

Johann Ernst Bach's compositions were significantly influenced by his uncle and father, and they reflected their styles of Baroque music. He was known for his contrapuntal style and his attention to detail in the harmonies. In his compositions, he integrated polyphony and tonality to create functional harmonies that entertained and inspired listeners.
