Jeremy Dale Roberts (16 May 1934 - 11 July 2017) was an English composer and teacher , considered to be a master of miniature compositions. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Gerald Finzi and Ralph Vaughan Williams , and later with Humphrey Searle. Roberts' compositions were mostly written for a soloist or a small ensemble, and his style was characterized by a sense of intimacy and refined musical detail.
Throughout his career, Roberts received numerous commissions and his works were performed by prominent musicians and ensembles, such as the London Sinfonietta, Arditti Quartet, and Nash Ensemble. Some of his notable works include "Cantata", "Croquis", "Chaconne", and "Andante Lugubre Alla Barcarola". He also made arrangements of works by other composers, such as Gerald Finzi and Colin Matthews.
In addition to his work as a composer, Jeremy Dale Roberts was also a respected teacher.
