Istvan Thoman was a Hungarian composer and violinist who lived between 1867-1930. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, and showed an early talent for music. Thoman was trained at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he studied under the renowned composer Franz Liszt. He also studied under other notable musicians of his time such as Jenő Hubay and Antonín Dvořák.
