Howard Goodall is a highly accomplished composer of musicals, choral music , film scores, and television themes. He was born on May 26, 1958, in Bromley, England. He was educated at New College School , Stowe School, and Lord Williams's School. Goodall's compositions are known for their melodic and harmonic richness, coupled with an effortless mastery of styles ranging from classical to popular music.

Goodall began his career in music as a church organist and choir director. He later went on to compose music for film and television, such as the theme music for the hit TV series "The Vicar of Dibley," "Mr. Bean," and "Red Dwarf." He has also worked on several films, including "The Borrowers," "Johnny English," and "Love Actually."

Goodall's compositions also include numerous choral works and musicals, such as "Love Story" and "Girlfriends."
