Herman Emanuel Bemberg Ocampo was a French-born Argentine composer born on March 29 , 1859. He came from a family of German industrial brewers, Don Otto Peter Bemberg being one of his ancestors. Bemberg pursued a career as a musician and composed numerous pieces of music throughout his life.

Bemberg is considered one of the forgotten composers of his time, and his work is not as well-known as that of some of his contemporaries. Nevertheless, his contributions to classical music deserve recognition. Some of his compositions include operas such as "Elaine" and "Le Coeur du Moulin," as well as art songs and other pieces of orchestral and chamber music.

Bemberg's career was not without controversy. He was caught in a scandal involving allegations of homosexuality with another male composer, though the nature of their relationship is not entirely clear. Despite this, Bemberg continued to work as a composer and musician until his death on July 21, 1931.
