Not much is known about his early life, but he is known to have written several musical works including a trio, a string quartet, and arrangements of Franz Liszt's Waltzes and Hungarian Marches which were arranged by Imre Szchnyi.

Gobbi's musical works were primarily for the piano, and he was recognized for his ability to write pieces with intricate melodies and harmonies.
