Short bio Hans Rott
Full biography Hans Rott
Hans Rott was an Austrian composer who lived from August 1, 1858 to June 25, 1884. He is considered one of the most promising composers of his generation, despite the fact that he died young and relatively unknown.
Rott's music was heavily influenced by his interest in Richard Wagner's music, and he also drew inspiration from other Romantic composers such as Brahms and Bruckner. He wrote several pieces during his short career, and his most famous work is his Symphony in E Major.
Rott struggled with mental illness throughout his life, which affected both his personal and professional life. He was also plagued by financial difficulties, and he died in poverty at the age of 25.
Despite his struggles, Rott was recognized as a talented and innovative composer by his contemporaries, including Gustav Mahler, who praised him as a "genius." However, Rott's music was largely forgotten after his death, and it was not until the 20th century that his compositions began to receive renewed attention.
Today, Rott is remembered as a composer who made significant contributions to the Romantic movement in music, and as a tragic figure who died before his potential could be fully realized.

Hans Rott - Overture Julius Caesar
Hans Rott composed this Overture to Julius Caesar from 10 to 30 april 1877, when he was 19 years old. The influence of Wagner is undeniable, however Rott's personality overcomes it in a search for selfexpression. Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Sebastian Wei
