Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello was an Italian Baroque composer and violinist who was born around 1690 and died in 1757. Brescianello is known for his works in instrumental music, particularly his Parthias and Sinphonias for solo Gallichone, which were written for the entertainment of the Bavarian nobility in the 18th century. He was also a long-time court kapellmeister at the Stuttgart court.

Brescianello’s name first appeared in a document from 1715, where he was referred to as a violin player in the orchestra of the court of Mannheim. Over the years, Brescianello served in various courts as a composer and violinist, including the court of Prince Ferdinand Maria in Munich and the court of Charles III in Spain. While in Spain, Brescianello composed overtures and sonatas for the royal chapel.

Brescianello's compositions are characterized by their use of light and lively melodies, as well as their imaginative and complex harmonies. He was also known for his use of counterpoint and inventive use of thematic material.

Brescianello's works have gained renewed attention in recent years, with performances and recordings of his music by groups such as La Serenissima, an English Baroque ensemble. His compositions continue to be highly appreciated for their beauty and originality, and his legacy as a leading composer of the Baroque era continues to be celebrated.
